The first collection depicts the expressions of women in India. The rich panoply of colors seen in the apparel of Indian women, in their henna embellishments and simple decorations outside their homes, accentuates their simple actions. The colors and impetuous strokes shows the artist’s admiration for women who use vibrant colors to elevate their spirits and their mundane surroundings.

The second collection of paintings captures some of Ms. Moorthy’s feelings while practicing Yoga. In this process she has found herself stretching, physically and mentally beyond her comfort zone. The colorful renditions represents her playful encounters with yoga.

The third collection of paintings were inspired by the interplay of light and texture on sculptures in the cave temples of Mahabalipuram, India. Fluorescent washes of color with shades of black have been used to bring out the intricate details.
