Inner Strength

Inner Strength
2012
Outdoor installation at the Jacques Marchais Museum of Tibetan Art, Staten Island, NY

In many Asian cultures people wear sacred threads for various reasons like attracting good luck, warding off back luck, or strengthening ties with partners and family. The canvas reflects the subconcisous need to retreat within familiar patterns that reveal our limitations and serve as
the source of inner strength. The sacred threads have been sourced and blessed from the temples in India and the audience is encouraged to take a small piece of thread - choosing red for STRENGTH or yellow for INTELLECT.

Tvc he exhibit was curated and installed by Ms. Moorthy herself.
